Located in Friendswood, TX, just outside of South Houston, we’ve built a reputation as the leading commercial mowing contractor in the greater Houston area. Our History of Excellence 

CMI was founded in March 1999 by Chris A. Mantell with a vision to deliver top-tier commercial landscaping and mowing services. Starting with a focus on right-of-way mowing, cycle mowing, pipeline mowing, fertilizing, and fencing, our company quickly grew to be recognized for setting the gold standard in the industry.

By 2006, Travis Mantell joined the business as Field Operations Manager, bringing fresh ideas and a hands-on approach to optimize the company’s efficiency. His proven leadership earned him the position of Chief Operations Officer, where he helped drive growth and foster innovation. 

April 2023 marked a historic transition when founder Chris Mantell retired, and Travis Mantell purchased the company and became the sole owner of CMI. Under his management, CMI experienced remarkable growth, expanding our revenue by 37%. 

Shortly after, CMI embraced its new chapter as a Women Owned Small Business, with Kameron E. Mantell becoming the majority owner (51%), while Travis Mantell retaining a minority ownership (49%).
